Binkert's Is Back After Fire Destroyed Store

  Binkert's German Meats Information

ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) ―

Binkert's German Meats is back in business in Rosedale.

Back in early August, an electrical fire set the roof ablaze. When it was over, Binkert's was forced to shut down.

Richard Sher reports now, just in time for all the Oktoberfest celebrations, customers are excited to be getting back to Binkert's.

"It's fresh, it's homemade and it's very good," said Karen Carpenter.

"Four weeks ago, I was standing here between open walls. Now we have a brand new place, and everyone is motivated and excited to get back to work," said the store's owner Lothar Weber.

Egon Binkert opened the shop at 8805 Philadelphia Road back in 1964. They've got customers who come from Washington's restaurants and embassies for the freshly made German meats.
