Worcester Could Change Code To Allow Wind Turbines

SNOW HILL, Md. (AP) ―

The Worcester County Commissioners are expected to be presented Tuesday with amendments to the county code that could allow county residents to build wind power turbines on their property.

The proposals are included in a status report on the county's new comprehensive plan. Commission President Virgil Shockley says he knows of several county residents interested in erecting wind turbines.

Shockley says provisions for wind power are being included in the comprehensive plan, but he says the commissioners may consider independent legislation to change the code more quickly.
