House, Senate Conferees Increase Bay Funding
BALTIMORE (AP) ―
A bill awaiting action by the House and Senate contains $50 million in funding for Chesapeake Bay restoration.
House and Senate appropriations conferees in Washington increased funding Wednesday in the annual spending bill for the Department of Interior by $19 million, $15 million more than requested by President Obama.
The president issued an executive order in May directing federal agencies to develop a bay restoration strategy.
