EPA Public Meetings Set On Bay Pollution Limits
BALTIMORE (AP) ―
The Environmental Protection Agency says it plans to hold public meetings in the six Chesapeake Bay watershed states to discuss upcoming pollution limits.
The EPA says the limits, called the Total Maximum Daily Load, are a strict "pollution diet" designed to restore the bay. The federal agency says the daily loads will establish the pollution cuts necessary for meeting bay clean water standards.
The hearings will be held in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia and New York in November and December.
