Actor Christian Bale says he was "out of order beyond belief."
Bale called in to Los Angeles'
"Kevin & Bean" morning radio show on KROQ, where he spoke out for the first time about his recent caught-on-tape meltdown.
The "Terminator Salvation" star issued an apology saying:
"The thing that I want to stress is that I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk - I regret that, and there is nobody that has heard that tape that is hit harder by it than me. So I make no excuses for it - it is inexcusable, and I hope that is absolutely clear."
The recording of Bale's tantrum has been grabbing headlines all week, both in mainstream media and on the web where it was shortly turned into a viral dance remix.
The "Dark Knight" star said that all has been resolved between himself and the crew member he was caught reprimanding.
He also had words for Olympian Michael Phelps, who received a three-month suspension from USA Swimming Thursday, after photos surfaced showing the swimmer inhaling from a marijuana pipe.
"Please, Michael Phelps, swim in the next Olympics," Bale said. "This guy has a God-given talent. So he smoked a bit of weed; plenty of our presidents have
do not waste that God-given talent."
