Simpson Debuts Promise Ring In NYC

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Ashlee Simpson is not engaged- yet. Simpson confirmed to FUSE TV on Wednesday that her boyfriend singer Pete Wentz from the band Fall Out Boy gave her a promise ring.

Simpson, 23, had the diamond crusted band on when she performed at a Caribou Iced Coffee event at New York City hot spot Marquee on Tuesday night. Simpson is promoting her upcoming album, "Bittersweet World."

During the FUSE TV interview Simpson said the difference between a promise ring and an engagement ring is, "It just means that he hasn't asked my dad yet."

In other Simpson news, Simpson's older sister Jessica recently posted a message on her website that she would be traveling to Kuwait to entertain the troops.
