Many are planning to dress up for Halloween this Saturday.
As
Ron Matz reports, Baltimore is ready to party with some unusual costumes leading this year's Halloween parade.
From pirates to Elvis and Michael Jackson, there are thrills a plenty in the aisles of Artistic Costumes in Towson.
"I am into Halloween. I wasn't always, but this year it's on a Saturday, so no one has any excuse not to dress up," said Rachel Greene, Charles Village.
Latasha Fulton of Parkville spent a large sum to show her holiday spirit.
"A good $300 every year," said Fulton.
Halloween is just around the corner, and body art is hot among observers.
"To tell you how real these are, I met a tattoo artist once, and he asked me who did my work," said Harriet Berlin. "So it's a lot of fun. You just take the stud bracelet and pull the sleeve on, and it's like you have a real tattoo on."
There are so many costumes to choose from.
"I'm looking for a banana costume for my 12-year-old son," said Michele Dougherty, Owings Mills.
Even Olympic athlete Dorothy Hamill was found searching for her costume.
"I have a friend who has an annual Halloween party, and it's wonderful now that it's a Saturday night, so we take the kids out, and we have a lot of good times," said Hamill. "I think adults like to dress up to sometimes."
From beauty queen to king crab, it's time to get your Halloween on.
The National Retail Federation says Halloween spending is down about 15 percent this year. Still, Americans will spend an estimated $4.75 billion on cards, candy, decorations and costumes.
