Kellye Lynn

People just feel better when watching Kellye Lynn provide tips for better living, report on new advances in medicine or give noon updates on the unfolding news of the day.  Kellye is WJZ 13's Healthwatch reporter - her health segments airing during the early morning and evening newscasts.

Kellye joined WJZ-TV in September 1994. For more than a decade, she anchored Eyewitness News at Noon, until abbreviating her schedule to devote more time to her two young children.  Voted Best Noon Anchor twice by Baltimore Magazine, Kellye currently serves as a primary fill-in anchor on the Morning Edition and Eyewitness News at 4, 5 and 6.

Her comprehensive medical reports provide viewers with an in-depth understanding of a wide array of topics from infectious disease threats, to controversial vaccines, to newly approved medications and cutting edge surgical procedures.

Kellye earned her B.A. degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. where she majored in Broadcast Journalism.  Her career started at the age of 16 when she began interning at WHUR-FM.  She quickly rose up the ranks, becoming one of the station's youngest disc jockeys.  From there, she went on to work at Black Entertainment Television, ABC News in Washington and hosted a news program at the PBS affiliate WHMM-TV in the Nation's Capital.

In an effort to gain even more experience, Kellye accepted a job as a weekend anchor at the ABC affiliate in Meridian, Mississippi.  After one year, she returned to the Washington market as a reporter/fill-in anchor at the Newschannel 8 Cable Network.

Throughout her career, Kellye has been repeatedly recognized for her accomplishments in journalism and for devoting time to the community.  She's dedicated countless hours to charities like the March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Hopewell Cancer Support and has served as a speaker at local hospitals, schools and churches.

Kellye lives in Carroll County with her husband Michael, son and daughter.
