Reporters

Andrea Fujii

Andrea Fujii joined the WJZ News Team as a general assignment reporter in October 2009.

Andrea took a different path to journalism, as she first graduated from Santa Clara Law School and passed the California bar before pursuing her dream of television news. She's learned that her business degree from the University of Washington and her legal knowledge has helped tremendously with her reporting skills.

Prior to WJZ she spent four years at KSTU in Salt Lake City, Utah, as an anchor and reporter. There she covered everything from the deadly coal mine collapse in 2007 to then-Governor Jon Huntsman's transition to become Ambassador to China.

Before Salt Lake City, Andrea spent a year in Yakima, Wash. at KNDO. In addition to shooting, editing and writing her stories, she also anchored evening newscasts.

Andrea started her journalism career in Honolulu, Hawaii at KHON as a general assignment reporter. She was excited to have her first job in Honolulu, which is her hometown and where her parents still reside.

Andrea currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband. In her free time she loves to cook, travel and go on long walks with her two dogs.
