Anchor / Reporters
Adam May
Award-winning anchor/reporter Adam May became a member of WJZ 13's Eyewitness News family in August 2003.
In 2006, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences named Adam "Best Live Reporter" in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
He came to Baltimore from the home of the Kentucky Derby Louisville and ABC affiliate WHAS-TV where he served a dual role--weekday reporter and weekend anchor of the station's evening weekend news program.
While in Louisville, Adam collected a number of journalistic awards for his reporting prowess. The Associated Press Kentucky chapter named him Best Reporter, an award that identified Adam as the best reporter overall in the Bluegrass state that year.
Before Louisville, Adam worked in Huntsville, Alabama at WAAY-TV as an anchor/reporter for this ABC affiliate. His reporting focused mainly on the crime beat and investigative work. His efforts earned him an Emmy from the Mid-South chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for an investigation into the dangers of teens behind wheels.
Additionally, he anchored a weekday half-hour evening news and entertainment program called "The News at Nine" that was oriented towards "Gen Xers." It aired on the UPN cable station, WHDF-TV, which had a partnership arrangement with WAAY-TV.
Adam started his career in broadcast journalism in his native state of Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota where he majored in communications and minored in history. For two years, he worked in Duluth for KBJR-TV as a general assignment reporter. While there, he covered the Jesse Ventura for governor campaign, among other news stories, for the NBC affiliate.
Adam, who enjoys outdoor activities, lives in Baltimore County.
